Stern Grove 4 mile

The Stern Grove 4 Mile is a short road race in San Francisco, starting and finishing at 33rd Avenue and Wawona Street near the city's southwest side. The distance is 4 miles (about 6.4 km), organized by DSE Races as part of its local Bay Area race calendar. The route follows Wawona Street, 34th Avenue, Crestlake Street, Sloat Boulevard, and 19th Avenue before heading downhill on Wawona. After the first loop, runners descend into Stern Grove, run along its east side, climb out, and finish at 33rd and Wawona. The course combines neighborhood streets with a park section, and the downhill stretch on Wawona provides a distinct rhythm: street loop, grove segment, climb out, then return to the starting corner.
