The Joyce Allen Great Turkey Escape starts and finishes at the Redding Community Center on Lonetown Road, Route 107, in Redding, Connecticut. This late-November local road event features a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a kids race of three-quarters of a mile or about 1K.
The community center serves as race-day base, with the course beginning and ending on the road outside. A virtual 5K or kids-distance option is also available. Finishers receive a medal, a long-sleeve tech shirt, an embroidered winter beanie, and embroidered running gloves. Awards are presented three deep in five-year age groups, and proceeds are donated to beneficiaries.
