Informazioni su questa gara
The Turkey Leg 5K is a Thanksgiving Day race held at Heritage Park in Farmington, Utah. The 5K begins at 9:00 AM, with a Kids 1K starting at 10:00 AM. This event is designed for a wide range of participants, including runners, walkers, those with strollers, and anyone who wishes to complete the distance at their own pace. Registration is straightforward and affordable, with distinct entry fees for the 5K and the children's race. Participants receive a soft, traditional beanie for race morning. The event also encourages runners to bring canned goods for a local food bank, extending the holiday spirit beyond the event's name.
The 5K route exits the park, proceeds south to Shepard Lane, then heads west towards 1500 West. It continues along this road as it transitions to 1800 North, before turning onto 1075 West for a downhill section. The course then loops back past the start area, concluding with a grass loop within the park. The Kids 1K remains within Heritage Park, utilizing a paved path for one and a quarter loops, also finishing on the grass. Parents have a clear view of the entire kids' course and are permitted to accompany their child without registering. All children participating in the 1K receive a prize. Overall male and female winners will be awarded Visa gift cards, with additional gift cards distributed post-race. The race proceeds regardless of November weather conditions in Utah, whether it be sunny, rainy, snowy, or icy, and refreshments are available at the finish line.
