Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run

The Ugly Sweater Run is a holiday 5K and 10K in Brevard, North Carolina, hosted at Oskar Blues Brewery and sponsored by Hunter Subaru. Participants wear gaudy holiday attire, making the race resemble a walking sweater party more than a typical road race. The event includes chip timing and awards for overall and age-group finishers, while remaining welcoming to families, pets, strollers, and those participating for enjoyment. The 5K course is entirely paved, predominantly flat, with under 100 feet of elevation gain. The 10K consists of two circuits of this same course. The route crosses greenways, encircles the Brevard Sports Complex, and follows Brevard streets, with a shared cutoff time for both distances. All finishers receive a commemorative ornament, eligible runners can obtain a dri-fit shirt, and race bibs contain a voucher for a beer at the post-race gathering. Groups of 10 or more can enter the Sweater Squad Showdown, with the largest group receiving funds for a chosen organization. The race is also part of the Holiday Hustle Series, alongside the South Asheville Turkey Trot and New Year’s Resolution Run.
