ZombieRunner Halloween

ZombieRunner Halloween is a Halloween-morning run held at Hellyer County Park in San Jose, starting and finishing at the Buena Vista Pavilion. This event is one of approximately 30 races organized annually by Coastal Trail Runs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, comprising mostly trail races with some road events. Participants can select from 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon distances, accommodating both short-course runners and those seeking a longer, flat course. The event typically sees between 1 and 100 participants, with registration beginning at $65. The course proceeds south from Hellyer County Park along the Coyote Creek Trail to Metcalf Park, returning to the same park for the finish. The terrain is predominantly trail, but the surface consists mainly of asphalt with sections of crushed rock. The route is characterized as fast and flat, with only minor elevation changes. Previous iterations of this race were held in different South Bay locations, such as the Baylands area near Palo Alto and the Los Gatos Creek Trail in Campbell, indicating the current San Jose location is a recent adaptation for a race that has relocated over time.
