レースについて
The Bad Ischler Sparkasse Katrin-Berglauf takes runners from the Kaiser-Jagdstandbild at 472 meters directly to the Katrin cable car mountain station at 1,415 meters. This is a short, steep mountain race in Bad Ischl, featuring a 4.4-kilometer main run that gains 943 meters in elevation and a relay option for teams of 11. Both the main race and relay begin at 9:00 on race morning. Start numbers are collected at the valley station of the Katrin cable car.
The course follows the steep ski slope toward the Katrin cable car. The distance is brief, but the climb is constant. Relay runners each cover approximately 400 meters with about 90 meters of elevation gain per leg, making the team race a series of short uphill efforts rather than a flat handoff. The race marks its 30th anniversary, and the first 100 individual participants receive an anniversary Katrin-Berglauf T-shirt. The top three men and women win dining vouchers for Bad Ischl restaurants, age-group podium finishers in the main race get Zaunerstollen cakes, and a prize is also awarded for the middle finishing time.
