The Ebbser Koasamarsch is an annual hiking and trail running event in the Kaisergebirge, centered in Ebbs, Tyrol. It started as a walking event, and trail races now run alongside the hikes. The field is capped so the mountain setting does not feel overcrowded, fitting the character of an event built around alpine paths.
Runners can choose between several mountain distances, from a 20 km route with 1,000 meters of climbing to a 33 km option with 1,910 meters and a 55 km route with 3,900 meters. The courses use alpine trails in the area around Ebbs, with difficulty from sustained climbing, changing footing, and time in the mountains. With more than fifty editions behind it, the Koasamarsch carries the feel of an old hiking tradition that has made room for modern trail running while keeping its original mountain-walking roots.
