The ASVÖ Hrinkow City-Kriterium is a short-lap road cycling race in Steyr, powered by Raiffeisen. National and international road professionals compete in the city on a race day in August. The format is tight and fast: riders complete over 60 laps, allowing spectators to see the race pass repeatedly rather than just a single brief moment.
The course winds through Steyr’s old town, incorporating cobblestones and what the organizers refer to as the city’s most demanding kilometer. This configuration requires more than just brute strength, as professionals must demonstrate precise bike control on a rapid, technical circuit situated near the spectators. The event is a long-standing Steyr tradition, and it also includes youth races on mountain bikes, providing a dedicated segment for younger competitors.
