The Dreiländereck-Berglauf is a 5 km uphill mountain race that climbs to the exact point where Austria, Slovenia, and Italy meet. It is run every summer in Arnoldstein, Kärnten, and starts at the Dreiländereck-Bergbahn chairlift car park in Seltschach. The climb is short on paper but steep in practice, with 800 metres of ascent before the finish at 1,508 metres on Dreiländereck mountain.
Runners head up through forest trails and gravel roads, finishing at the three-country border marker with views over the Gail valley, the Dobratsch massif, and the Julian Alps. The event has been held annually since 2018, is organized by the running section of SC Hermagor, and also includes Nordic walking. Fields are small, usually around a few dozen runners, and children’s races are part of the race weekend.
