The Lidl Österreich Schullauf is a school running event in Austria where children compete by grade group over short distances, typically 800 metres for younger elementary pupils and 1,200 metres for older ones. At this year's event, pupils from Volksschule Abtenau ran at Sportzentrum Rif, with four children from each class selected to compete.
The races emphasize school teams alongside individual results. Volksschule Abtenau secured first place in both its school category and the overall elementary school ranking. Podium finishes contributing to this success included Tobias Posch, Theresa Bogensperger, Lina Klug, Nina Buchegger, and Valentin Sandtner. The event also supports a charity cause: Lidl Austria donates EUR1 to Licht ins Dunkel for children’s and youth projects for every kilometre run.
