The Murfelder Adventlauf is a pre-Christmas running and Nordic walking event in Lichendorf, a village in the Murfeld area of Austria. Since 2005, participants have gathered there in Advent to run or walk for charity, with the event built around the simple idea: “We run to help.”
The race series is local and community-minded rather than elite-focused, and its fundraising record is the standout detail. The full net proceeds go to charitable causes, with support directed to children with special needs. After two decades, the total raised is expected to pass one million euros, which speaks to how strongly the event is backed by runners, walkers, organizers, and local supporters.
