Walk the Lake begins and ends at the Brunnwind restaurant, situated on Lake Wolfgangsee in St. Gilgen. This is a low-pressure walking event connected to the International Wolfgangsee Run. It offers four distance choices and is designed for accessibility, welcoming individuals who prioritize participation over competitive times.
While chip timing is provided, finishing times do not influence any official results, and there is no conventional ranking. Participants receive standard race-day items: starter packages, a finisher medal, a downloadable personal certificate, and an alphabetical list of all finishers. The event also draws inspiration from the region's Volkswandertagen traditions, recalling a time when organized walking days were a common practice in Austria.
