40 for Fortey 2026

At Katooma Point and the Toowoomba Showgrounds in Glenvale, 40 for Fortey is an annual run held in memory of Police Officer Senior Constable Brett Forte. It has the feel of a respectful community gathering more than a big-city race, with profits going to Queensland Police Legacy and plenty of space for beginners and families to be part of the day. The course is a flat, accessible loop, the kind where you can settle into a steady rhythm and see the same faces often enough for the encouragement to matter. Solo runners can take it on themselves, or relay teams of 2-10 can share the journey over repeated loops, which makes handovers, team camaraderie, and excellent spectator access a real part of the event. Participants are welcome to run or walk, and the event is pram friendly.
