On the historic 161km Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, this ultra follows a simple plan: start near Yarraman and continue along the old railway line toward Wulkuraka. The route is a converted railway line, meaning the challenge stems more from time on feet, patience, and the slow effort of a true test of endurance, rather than technical running.
Underfoot is crushed gravel with gentle gradients, passing charming rural townships, heritage bridges, rolling farmland, and the Brisbane Valley’s pastoral landscape. Depending on the option, the course runs out-and-back or point-to-point, with regular crew access and well-stocked aid stations. Ultra runners complete the full long-haul version, while beginners have shorter options to experience the trail.
