Horsham Running Festival

Sawyer Park Soundshell serves as the starting point, with participants following paths beside the scenic Wimmera River, opting for riverbanks over city streets for the majority of the morning. The second annual Horsham Running Festival retains the atmosphere of a local club event, accommodating first-timers, walkers, faster runners, and children while maintaining a welcoming spirit. Its success is built on straightforward elements: a level riverside course, evident signage, dedicated volunteers, and a supportive community environment. The primary route extends from Sawyer Park towards Weir Park, crossing near Currans Boardwalk, and then returns anti-clockwise along the opposing bank, offering views of both sides of the river. Longer races involve repeating this river circuit, whereas shorter routes utilize the closest bridges, and the Kids Dash follows a simple path toward Weir Park. Children under 12 can participate in a free, untimed event, reflecting the race's practical, inclusive nature, focused on showcasing Horsham's natural surroundings.
