Fern Tree Park anchors the Lincoln Quilliam 2026 Series finale, featuring the return of two favoured courses. This is mountain trail running in kunanyi country, with large manferns, historic water supply stonework, Silver Falls, The Springs, Milles Track, and terrain varying from smooth to technical. It feels like a runner’s course, not a showpiece, offering ultra runners substantial challenges underfoot.
The Potato Hopper passes the Disappearing Tarn and the Potatofields, a dolerite boulderfield, then descends onto Wellington Falls Track and Pipeline Track. Expect technical, rocky terrain, followed by "beautiful, flowing downhill single track" for speed, and a very runnable return to Fern Tree Park and the waiting BBQ. Snake Plains maintains its initial difficulty before turning onto a "classic Tassie bushwalking track, in parts eroded, boggy and scratchy," with views towards Bruny and South Cape on clear days.
