Sturt Reserve serves as the central point, with the event village situated on the lawn between the playground and skate park. The start line is positioned next to the well-known Bunyip. The Murray Bridge Running Festival offers a straightforward, community-focused atmosphere: participants of all ages, children near the pump track and covered playground, and bib collection the evening prior at the Bridgeport Hotel lounge, described as “Murray Bridge’s newest jewel in the crown.”
The course route directs participants through Sturt Reserve and along Murray Cods Drive, involving road closures in the vicinity of the reserve. The day's events are centered around the theme “Run Rural and Run the Bridge.” The marathon has been removed from this year's schedule due to ongoing construction on the levee banks, a practical consideration common in local events. Expect assistance from volunteers, coffee and refreshments post-race, and the essential “early morning heart starter coffee” before participants begin to disperse from the finish area.
