The De Boever Trail d'Alost begins in Aalst, Belgium, at Frans Blanckaertdreef near the city park. The event includes trail runs, a short walking option, and children's races. Adult running distances are 8 km, 18 km, and 32 km. The longer routes predominantly use off-road paths; the 32 km route is up to 85 percent off-road, and the 18 km route is about 80 percent off-road. Organisers describe it as a light trail focused on recreation, suitable for those seeking dirt paths and woodland sections without a demanding mountain-style race.
The marked courses traverse nature areas surrounding Aalst, such as Gerstjens, Somergembos, Kluizenbos, and Kapellemeersen. The 32 km route extends to Kravaalbos. Walkers can participate in the 8 km route, and children have their own 480 m and 1000 m races. Traffic marshals manage the few road crossings, aid stations are available based on distance, and all finishers get a medal. Koninklijke Atletiekclub Eendracht Aalst organises the event, featuring podiums for each race and prizes including medals, money, and natural items.
