Goiânia’s half marathon, held in October as part of the city’s birthday, is the largest street race in Goiás. It features four distances — 5 km, 10 km, 16 km, and 21 km — accommodating first-time runners, regular club runners, and athletes aiming for the full half-marathon distance. The longer races commence before dawn, with the shorter events beginning shortly thereafter.
The event attracts amateur and professional runners from Goiânia, other parts of Goiás, and the broader Center-West region. The Goiás athletics federation certifies the race, which provides real-time results. Participants benefit from hydration stations, medical support including an ambulance, age-group awards, a post-race kit, and a race arena offering sponsor and supporter activities.
