Dirty Feet Heartbreak is an ultra trail race held at Stake Lake in British Columbia's Thompson-Nicola region, near Kamloops. Participants can choose from 100 km, 50 km, 25 km, or a 25 km night race, with relay options available for the 100 km and 50 km distances. The 100 km solo and relay runners begin in the morning. The 50 km, 50 km relay, and daytime 25 km races start later in the morning, while the 25 km night race commences at 9:00 PM PDT.
The course is structured as a series of numbered legs, not a single point-to-point route. Legs 1, 3, and 4 are each 10 km, and Leg 2 is 15 km. The 50 km race covers Legs 1 through 4 once. The 25 km race uses Legs 1 and 2. The 100 km race completes the full eight-leg course twice. The night race combines Legs 2 and 3 after dark. Relay teams can consist of two to eight people for the 100 km event, and two to four people for the 50 km event. All runners receive Dirty Feet merchandise, along with sponsor prizes and snacks.
