The Mastodon Rumbler is a trail race held in the Whiterocks Hills of Hillsborough, New Brunswick, with its event base located on Taylor Lane. Taking place in June, it provides two approximate distance choices: a "10 ish" route covering around 10 kilometers and a longer "20 ish" option. This race, now in its second year, utilizes local trails instead of paved roads or city streets.
The land inspired the race's name; mastodons once inhabited the region, and subsequent mining activities left features on the hills that now define the running paths. The 10 ish course navigates most of the park's outer trails and features several minor inclines. The 20 ish race begins on the same circuit as the 10K participants before continuing onto a distinct second loop. Proceeds from the event benefit a Hillsborough community playground and Codiac Cycle Trails, the organization responsible for maintaining and enhancing White Rocks Recreation Park.
