Seaside Showdown Series: Cape Spear Path 2026

The Seaside Showdown Series: Cape Spear Path is a 9.3 km trail race in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, running from Maddox Cove to Cape Spear. It is part of the Seaside Showdown Series and is organized by ECT50 East Coast Trail Ultra Marathon, The Outfitters, and Train 4 Trails. Registration is handled through Ultra Sign Up and includes a Parks Canada Day Pass fee. The route is unflagged, so runners must know their way before starting. A GPX file is provided, and the route is also available through the event Strava club. Volunteers are posted at key points on the course, but this remains a self-navigation trail race rather than a fully marked road-style event. Hikers using the path are asked to step aside for runners and cheer them on, drop bags for the finish are collected at check-in, and parking at the start is limited.
