The Springbank Road Races London is a Sunday event held in Springbank Park, London, Ontario. It features a half marathon, a 5K run/walk, a 2.1K Mini Half for young runners, and a short Kiddy Trot. The races are part of the SoleScience Race Series. The schedule begins with the half marathon in the morning, followed by the 5K and children’s events later.
The half marathon course starts with a small loop within Springbank Park before heading out and back on the Thames River Path. The 5K route remains entirely within the park, also using an out-and-back design. The Kiddy Trot covers approximately 250 meters, with parents permitted to accompany registered children. This race boasts over 59 years of history, having previously hosted national and international athletes. Its distances have evolved from original 3-mile and 12-mile park loops to 10K and 20K races before adopting the current half marathon and 5K format. The designated charity partner is Operation Walk Canada, a London-based, volunteer-run organization that funds hip and knee replacement surgeries for individuals in developing nations. They have conducted missions to Guatemala and Ecuador, performing over 1,200 surgeries since 2006.
