Gantrisch Loppet

The Gantrisch Loppet is a cross-country ski event on the Gurnigel, in the heart of Gantrisch Nature Park in Switzerland. It is a winter mass-participation race for recreational skiers, with options that also suit families and children. The event is part of Swiss Loppet, the national series of ten popular cross-country ski races. The program includes a Hauptloppet, a shorter Kurzloppet with a Maxi category, plus Mini and Midi races for younger or less experienced skiers. The main race begins with a short opening loop in the former biathlon arena before heading onto longer trails through the park. The setting gives skiers mountain views, but the race is also exposed to winter conditions: one planned edition was cancelled because there was not enough snow.
