The Laui-Trail-Run takes runners above Reichenburg in the Schwyz pre-Alps, within the Kistleralpen area. The trails require true mountain footing, not just road speed. Skiclub Reichenburg organizes the event, maintaining a relaxed atmosphere with a motto that emphasizes participation over placement. Timing is straightforward, recorded only at the finish line, and participants can select one of two courses.
The shorter Classic route spans 12 km with 1,047 meters of ascent and 432 meters of descent. The longer route covers 21.2 km, featuring 1,542 meters of climbing and 926 meters of descent. Both courses offer views of the Wägital peaks, the Glarus Alps, the Linth plain, and Lake Zurich. In its third year, 67 runners began, an increase from 48 the prior year, with 66 finishing. One past event provided a distinct mountain weather experience: after ascending through the forest, runners emerged above a dense fog layer into sunshine.
