High above Ovronnaz, the Ovronnalpski sends teams of two into ski-mountaineering terrain above the Valais village of Leytron. Ski Club Ovronnaz organizes this event every two years, offering three course options so elite racers and popular entrants share the same event without needing the same distance or climb.
The routes revisit La Seya, Grand-Château, and Tita Seri. The Châtillon course is the short option at 10 km with 1,000 m of climbing, featuring junior categories for ages 15 to 20 and a scratch ranking for adults. The Grand-Château course is the middle option at 12 km with 1,350 m of climbing. The race had reached its twelfth edition by the time it marked 30 years. The off-year La Vadrouille adds a festive mountain gathering for athletes, curious visitors, and people who enjoy being up high in winter terrain.
