RunThrough Trails Ascona - Locarno

RunThrough Trails Ascona-Locarno begins in Piazza Grande, leading runners from the town onto river paths and mountain trails overlooking Lake Maggiore. This Saturday race series in the Ascona-Locarno region features 42k and 24k trail runs, a 2k kids race on pavement, and an evening Vertical Stair Race. The 42k covers 2,400 meters of elevation gain with a 10-hour time limit, and the 24k has 1,250 meters of climbing and a 7-hour limit. The mountain course ascends Pizzo Leone, a peak over 1,600 meters, and the stair race tackles the Sacred Mount steps to the Madonna del Sasso Church. Participants will use headlamps after sunset. Registration provides chip timing, race photography, post-race treats, and a thematic medal.
