The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 24-Hour and 48-Hour Run in Kladno takes place on the last weekend of June. Runners complete laps on a one-kilometer course at Sletiště. The 48-hour race begins Friday at noon, and the 24-hour Czech Championship starts Saturday at noon, with both events concluding Sunday at noon.
This is the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team’s longest and largest ultrarunning event in the Czech Republic. Approximately 100 runners from multiple countries typically participate. The format is straightforward: maintain forward motion through varied weather, fatigue, and extended hours on the same loop. The event has seen significant achievements, such as Daniel Trusca's 370.121 km Romanian 48-hour record, Radka Churaňová’s Czech 24-hour record of 251.498 km, and Edda Bauer’s 235 km age-group world record at 75 years old. Spectators are welcome to offer support at any time, a valuable contribution in a race where maintaining mental focus over many laps is a primary challenge.
