Barokomaraton begins and ends at Areal Velka louka in Plasy, a town in the Plzen-North district of the Czech Republic. It is an autumn running event in the Strela River valley, offering races for those seeking a challenging effort and for those who enjoy running in the woods. The schedule includes Kid's races and a 4.2 km run, extending up to 10 km, a half marathon, a marathon, and the Baroko Ultra 100 km. The marathon has a 7-hour time limit, and the 100 km race allows 16 hours, accommodating both casual runners and long-distance specialists.
The routes traverse forests and meadows within an area managed by Lesy Ceske republiky, with organizers requesting runners to respect the natural environment. This event is not promoted as a course for achieving personal best times; its draw lies more in trail running, autumn scenery, and a full day in the Plasy area with family or friends. The race village provides a cultural program, children's entertainment, food, and beverages. A team relay is also featured, involving three runners who each cover a different distance: one runs 10 km, another the half marathon, and the third the marathon, with their combined time determining the final standing. Registration is limited to 1,100 participants, and canicross is prohibited.
