Běh údolím Orlice is a cross-country running event in the Orlice valley near Klášterec nad Orlicí, taking place on the first Sunday of October. It accommodates all ages: children as young as two can run 90 meters, preschoolers have a 400-meter race, and older participants compete on looped courses for women and men.
The adult races begin simultaneously, with women running 6 km and men running 9 km. The fastest overall runners in these races are awarded cash bonuses. The children’s participation significantly shapes the event’s character: the youngest runners receive gingerbread medals, the top three youth runners get ceramic medals, and category winners are also presented with small prizes and diplomas. The event is organized by the cross-country skiing section of Sokol Klášterec nad Orlicí. Race day involves a local road closure between Pastviny and Klášterec, with a detour in place.
