Hornická desítka, the Miner’s Ten, is a 10 km road race held in Frýdek-Místek. Its origins trace back to mining towns near Paskov and Staříč. The race evolved from a 15 km event that originally ran between the Paskov and Staříč mines. The route name shifted between Paskov-Staříč-Paskov and Staříč-Paskov-Staříč. Following the closure of Paskov Mine, the event relocated to Frýdek-Místek. TJ Slezan Frýdek-Místek assumed organization to maintain the tradition.
The race maintains a connection to the area’s mining history, though it now functions as a general running event, not exclusively for miners. Initial races attracted hundreds of participants, including national-level Czech athletes. Subsequent events drew thousands of runners across various age categories. Organizers design courses for different age groups, featuring a main 10 km race alongside shorter options for younger participants and families.
