IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové begins in the historic center of this Czech city, taking athletes into the River Labe, or Elbe, for a 1.9 km swim. This summer half-distance triathlon features a 90 km bike leg and a 21.1 km run, with a cap of 1,750 athletes and an 8 hour 30 minute limit. The race center is located on the riverbanks, and the finish line is on Masaryk Square, keeping the main event closely connected to the old city rather than a distant location. The bike course departs the city center for the countryside of Eastern Bohemia before returning to transition by the Elbe. The run course follows streets and parks within Hradec Králové, including the area near the confluence of the Elbe and Orlice rivers. The broader weekend event also includes a 5150 Olympic-distance triathlon, a Pho3nix IRONKIDS race for younger participants, and an evening City Lights Run preceding the main races.
