Malínská Osmička is a cross-country trail race held in October in Nový Malín, a village within the Šumperk district of the Olomouc Region. The primary race covers just under 8 kilometers, officially measured at 7.97 km, beginning near the municipal office. This local event takes place in the evening, with the first category commencing at 16:30, and includes children's races alongside the main competition.
The course features gently rolling terrain, not a technical mountain path, consisting of approximately 70% asphalt and meadow sections. Josef Smolicha and Miloš Hecl are the organizers, and the race's established local history means results from multiple past editions are accessible. The event's format is straightforward and functional: a brief, village-centered autumn run, incorporating sufficient off-road sections for a cross-country feel while maintaining enough asphalt to ensure accessibility.
