Mělnický vinařský běh

The Mělnický vinařský běh begins and ends at the Bettina Lobkowicz winery in Mělník, a Czech wine town located approximately 35 kilometers north of Prague. This annual September running event, held in the Central Bohemian Region, features a 10K, a half marathon, and children's races of 300, 600, and 900 meters. The race is closely linked to its wine region setting: participants receive a medal and a commemorative glass, with wine tasting available immediately after finishing. Entry also covers food and drink, and race proceeds benefit individuals with cystic fibrosis. The 10K course follows a loop along the Labe, the Vltava, and a canal, crossing the Labe by bridge twice. The surrounding landscape offers runners views of Mělník's castle and nearby vineyards. The event accommodates various participants: juniors, age-group adults, children, club runners, and those aiming for fast times are all catered for, with chip timing and a course designed for personal bests. Category winners earn entry into the next edition, and a cash bonus is awarded for new men's and women's course records. The half marathon is a recent addition, extending a race that originated with the 10K and the local winery ambiance.
