The Schwebebahn-Lauf Wuppertal begins on the B7 at Engelsgarten in Wuppertal, Germany, with runners starting in the morning in June. This city road race series, organized by Schwebebahn-Lauf e.V. since 2013, features 10 kilometers and a half marathon as its main distances.
The course heads west from Engelsgarten to a turnaround at Barmer Straße before returning to the same finish area. The 10-kilometer race consists of two laps, while half marathon participants run four laps plus a short additional loop. The event's name connects it to Wuppertal’s suspended railway; its initial regular passenger cars were the Baureihe 00, and the preserved Kaiserwagen, a two-part museum unit, is named after Kaiser Wilhelm II, who tested the system prior to its public launch.
