The Lohelauf is a local running and walking event held in Stiftungsland Wentorfer Lohe. The race hub is established as a tent city at the Hundewiese in the Lohe. It takes place in September, running from morning until early afternoon. The program is designed for various age groups: younger children have a 1.5 km loop, older children and adults can choose from 3 km, 6 km, or 9 km runs, and walkers of any age have a 5 km option.
All starts and finishes are located at the tent city, which also manages registration, electronic race numbers, the German Red Cross support, and award ceremonies. The longer running distances utilize the 3 km loop multiple times, with 6 km being two laps and 9 km being three laps. Families can observe and cheer at the finish line. Drinks, fruit, and snacks are available for purchase on site, and all participants who complete a run or walk receive a medal. This event is celebrating its 20th edition. Organizers encourage participants to arrive without a car, as ample bicycle parking is provided.
