The Vogelsberger Südbahnlauf is a summer running event in Birstein, Hessen, organized by LT Unterreichenbach. It offers adults three main distances: a half marathon, 10 km, or 5 km. Younger participants have a 1.9 km student race and a 300 m Bambini run for very young children. This structure provides a local race day for families, beginners, club runners, and faster athletes, rather than a single-distance event targeting one type of runner.
The race is included in the Main-Kinzig-Challenge, a series of eight running events in the region during spring and summer. LT Unterreichenbach maintains a broader running community beyond this event; the club meets every Tuesday evening at the sports field in Birstein-Unterreichenbach, organizes occasional weekend runs, and provides training for new and experienced runners. Previous editions have featured published results and photo galleries, indicating the event's established local presence.
