24. Burscheider Stadtlauf 2026

On Stadtlauf Sunday, central Burscheid closes to traffic, filling with runners, music, and spectators. The Burscheider Stadtlauf is an annual town-centre running event organized by the Stadtsportverband Burscheid. It features a 10-kilometer main race in the early afternoon, preceded by a 3-kilometer race, and a 1-kilometer option for shorter distances. Registration is practical, allowing on-site sign-ups on race day. The day begins with Kita races for young children. They warm up in matching shirts, run in teams or groups, and are cheered on by parents and spectators. Local Kita groups, including Johanniter-Kita Hilgen and Die kleinen Strolche, participate. Children receive a medal and a Stadtlauf-Brot from Bäckerei Kretzer. Approximately 500 people participate, ranging from club runners to casual joggers and those running for the enjoyment of moving through town together.
