36. Active Laufshop Silvesterlauf 2026

The Active Laufshop Silvesterlauf is a New Year's Eve running event in Münster, starting and finishing at Sentruper Höhe. Participants can select three, five, or ten kilometers, accommodating both short year-end runs and longer races. The event is designed for up to 2,000 runners; approximately 1,500 starters typically participate in the Laufsportfreunde Münster race. Registration is exclusively online, and race numbers are distributed at the sports facility prior to the start. The route circles the zoo and the Aasee, passing by one of Münster's most frequented outdoor spaces. It serves as a year-end run for the local running community, bringing together club runners, regular hobbyists, and spectators at Sentruper Höhe. Certain editions have focused solely on the sport: conducted outdoors regardless of weather, without an indoor meeting point, secure bag storage, or changing facilities, and no post-race gathering. The cake buffet was once a significant source of income for the club, and Active Laufshop became the primary sponsor for the series.
