The Seubersdorfer Silvesterlauf is a New Year's Eve road race in Seubersdorf, finishing at the sports center on Buchberg. The main race covers 9.4 km, with a 5.6 km option and children's races, attracting both competitive club runners and local families. Despite cold, wet winter conditions, 484 athletes completed the race.
The course is known for its demanding final ascent to Buchberg, providing a more challenging finish than a flat town run. Spectators closely follow the events, Dieter Weidner provides commentary as the course announcer, and the organizing team, led by Reinhard Platen and Christoph Wittmann, processes results promptly. Even when weather prevents record-breaking times, many runners return, achieving faster personal results.
