The Gillrather Crosslauf is a traditional cross-country race in Germany’s Selfkant region, starting and finishing at the sports field in Gangelt-Stahe. It uses a natural course, not roads, and the organizers note that spikes can be used on parts of the route, indicating proper cross-country terrain.
The programme includes distances for all ages: 0.6 km for U8, 1.3 km for U10 and U12, 2.6 km for U14, 4.6 km for open runners and youth, and 9.2 km for men, women, and youth. The race proceeds in all weather. Every finisher receives a digital certificate with their place and time. The overall winners of the 9.2 km race get a gift. Mayor Dr. Armin Leon is the patron of the event.
