9. Lengericher Ultratrail am Neujahrstag

The Lengericher Ultratrail am Neujahrstag is a 46 km trail race starting in Lengerich, Germany, held on New Year's Day. This is a small, hilly race, not a big-city ultra, featuring 960 meters of elevation gain, an 8 hour 30 minute time limit, and a participant limit of 30. A 23 km option is available for those preferring a single loop over the full two-loop ultra. The course consists of two 23 km loops within the Teutoburg Forest and Tecklenburger Land. It utilizes hiking trails, narrow paths, the Hexenstieg, and Teutoschleifen routes. Recent 46 km races have seen small fields, typically only a few dozen finishers. The event has recorded 115 total finishers throughout its history, comprising 75 men and 40 women. Laufen im Teutoburger Wald organizes the race, Uwe Laig serves as the contact, the entry fee is 18 euros, and all finishers are awarded a medal.
