The Bad Buchauer Stadtlauf mit Halbmarathon begins and ends at the market square in Bad Buchau, a spa town in the Tuebingen district of Baden-Wurttemberg. Organized by SV Bad Buchau and held annually in mid-July, it offers runners a local race day with multiple distances instead of a single-distance event. The options include a 4.8 km Jedermannlauf, an 8 km Nordic walking event, a 21 km half marathon, a 1.65 km student race, and a free 400 m Bambini run for young children.
The short city race takes participants through two laps of the town center, incorporating parts of the Kurpark and the archaeological moor education path. Half marathon runners follow the same initial two inner-town laps before heading out of Bad Buchau for a large loop around Federsee. This longer course transitions from streets and spa-park paths to the lake and wetland scenery surrounding the town. The Federsee half marathon is the primary attraction for distance runners, while the children’s races, Nordic walking, and affordable entry fees ensure the event welcomes local families, casual runners, and club athletes.
