The Bocholter Halbmarathon starts and finishes on Hemdener Weg in Bocholt, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia near the Dutch border. It is an early-September running event built around a DLV-measured 21.1 km half marathon, with a children's race and a 7.5 km option on the program too. The race began in 2019, so it is still a fairly young local event rather than a long-running city classic.
The half marathon uses a turnaround-style course with one large loop around Bocholt. Runners head out through streets such as Alffstrasse and Modderborgstrasse, continue over Finkenberg and through Morshuttenstegge and Gebingsstege, then use roads including Hemdener Ringstrasse, Barloer Ringstrasse, Krusallee, Winterswijker Strasse, Im Kortenhorn, and Zum Venn before rejoining the original route at about 15 km for the run back to the finish. The supporting program is aimed at families, and timing, start lists, results, and photos are handled through Racepedia.
