The Engenhahner Gickel-Waldlauf is a forest run held at the Engenhahn sports field in Germany's Taunus region. The event begins in the morning, offering participants several distances: a half marathon, 10 km, 6.5 km, 3 km, 1.2 km, and a 375 m race for children. The half marathon and 10 km routes are loops, and the run is included in the Taunus-Lauf-Challenge. TSV Engenhahn 1977 e.V. is the organizer, and the race proceeds regardless of weather conditions.
The event has the feel of a local club competition rather than a large urban race. Both the start and finish lines are located at the Engenhahn sports field. Late registrations are possible at the venue until the morning deadline for a small fee, and runners may request a certificate during the event. Adult finishers get a voucher from an outdoor store. Children, youth runners, and top finishers in older categories receive a jar of preserves with their certificate. Post-race amenities include awards for the main races, pasta, grilled items, and a substantial cake buffet.
