Firmenlauf Remscheid

The EWR*Firmenlauf Remscheid is an annual 5K company run held in Remscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia. The race starts and finishes at Schützenplatz, serving as an evening road event for the city and the broader Bergisches Land region. It is designed for teams from companies, public authorities, and other institutions. Colleagues register as a group, wear their team colors or costumes, and compete against other workplaces, with the focus not solely on speed. The participants include beginners, walkers, determined runners, and those primarily attending for the team event; organizers suggest running, walking, or dancing is acceptable. Over 1,800 runners participated in the fifth edition, positioning it as a medium-sized local mass-participation race. Following the 5K, the event includes networking, team building, and an after-run party with live music. A notable award is the Löwen-Pokal, a lion-head trophy presented to the most creative company, which the winning company displays in their office for a year. One previous recipient was recognized for a caterpillar costume.
