The Fun & Erlebnis Marathons in Schneverdingen is a winter trail ultra covering approximately 52 kilometers across the Lüneburg Heath. Held in January, it has a 9-hour time limit and a modest entry fee, giving it the character of a club event rather than a large commercial race. Originally the Heide Winter Trail Ultra in 2017, it is now organized by Fun & Erlebnis Marathons, with Christian Hottas as the race contact.
The route uses hiking trails from Schneverdingen, passing through Hörpel and Döhle before reaching Egestorf, and then returning via Wilsede. The participant field is typically small, often just a few dozen runners. Results indicate both swift front-runners and a larger group taking the full winter day to complete the distance. Winning times have varied from just over four hours to more than six, reflecting the conditions on the heath in January, including the route, terrain, and weather.
