The Heumadener Volkslauf und Halbmarathon begins and ends at the Untere Hasenwedel sports complex in Stuttgart-Heumaden. Organized by TSV Heumaden, it is a local road race and family sports festival that takes place annually in June or July, having started in 2009. Participants can select shorter distances of approximately 5.5 km and 10.3 km. A half marathon was introduced later, extending the event's offerings from a casual community run to a 21 km challenge.
The course is a lengthy, mostly flat loop with minimal inclines, passing through Heumaden, Riedenberg, and Kemnat. The 10.3 km race involves completing the loop twice, with a refreshment stop situated midway. The race originated from TSV Heumaden’s Familiensportfest, and the inaugural Sanwald Half Marathon coincided with the club’s 125th anniversary, establishing a distinct club-history link for the longer distance rather than it being a mere addition.
