Mammutmarsch Stuttgart begins and ends at Kastellplatz Römerkastell in Bad Cannstatt. Participants select from 30 km, 42 km, or 60 km routes. This is an endurance march held in September, not a running race. The start is staggered across morning waves; longer distances depart earlier, while 30 km participants can begin later. Both Nordic walking and regular walking are accommodated, emphasizing steady distance, pacing, and time on your feet over speed.
The routes lead from Stuttgart through forest paths, hills, and open fields, featuring quiet sections and steep climbs. The 42 km option is the newest Stuttgart distance, positioned between the shorter entry route and the 60 km route. Finishers receive a medal, certificate, finisher ribbon, and a cold drink. The 42 km and 60 km routes also include a lightweight event shirt. Sportograf photographers document the march, offering participants the option to purchase photos taken on the course and at the finish.
