Mäschder Drehwurm is a small trail ultra in Großmaischeid, Rhineland-Palatinate. Runners start from the Grillhütte and circle a short loop for as long as their chosen race allows. It is a spring weekend event organized by Katjas Laufzeit, offering 6-hour and 12-hour options, with a new 24-hour race added for its fifth edition. The 24-hour race begins Friday evening, the 12-hour race starts early Saturday morning, and the 6-hour race commences Saturday afternoon. The 6-hour event can also be completed as a relay.
The loop measures approximately 2.6 to 2.75 km, with each lap gaining 47 meters in elevation. The challenge stems from repeatedly navigating a hilly off-road circuit rather than achieving high speeds on flat terrain. Participants run on forest tracks, trails, and meadow paths. The event typically hosts a small field of under 100 participants. Race Result manages the timing, and the event provides public start lists, results, and photos for participants.
